What counts as a site
The thing agencies always have to ask, answered plainly.
- A standalone WordPress install counts as one site, whatever domain it is on.
- A Multisite network counts as one site on Studio and above, no matter how many subsites are in it.
- Staging, local and development copies are free. They do not consume a seat.
- Seats are reusable. Deactivate on a site you have handed back, activate on the next one.

What happens when my license expires?
The Pro features switch off and the plugin stops receiving updates. The free plugin keeps working exactly as before, and nothing is deleted — your originals, your optimized files and all your alt text stay where they are. Renew and Pro comes straight back.
Does a Multisite network count as one site?
Yes, on Studio and above. One activation covers every subsite in the network, however many there are. On Starter, each install counts separately.
Do staging and local copies use up a seat?
No. Activate Pro on your live sites; staging, local and development installs are not counted.
Can I move a license between sites?
Yes. Deactivate the license on one site and activate it on another — seats are counted on our side, not baked into the download, so you can reshuffle as a client roster changes.
Do I pay extra for the AI alt text?
Not to us. AI alt text is bring-your-own-key: you add an OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or self-hosted endpoint and you are billed by that provider at their rate, with no markup from us. You can also skip AI entirely and generate alt text from file names, which costs nothing.
Is the free plugin a crippled demo?
No. The free plugin is the whole editor — crop, resize, focal point, on-upload optimization, WebP, safe renaming and restore. Pro adds the things that only start to matter once you are looking after a lot of sites: reporting, bulk runs and the licensing review.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — 14 days, no argument. Payments and refunds are handled by Freemius, our merchant of record, so VAT and invoicing are taken care of too.
What happens at renewal?
Licenses renew annually at a discount on the first-year price. Founding customers keep their founding rate for as long as the license stays active.
